We lost 2 lambs last night, black lambs to a white ewe. I'm hoping that the ewe will make it, again thanks go out to Jay Mariacher for taking over last night when I was throwing up outside the barn because of the stench!
This morning though, we welcomed 2 new white cotswolds (1 ram lamb, 1 ewe lamb). They're small, I thought that their mother would have had only 1 in her she was such a small pregnancy compared to the other ewes. But, no, true to form the Cotswolds through 2-3 each time.
Obviously I banned tails correctly because because they are starting to fall off the lambs with no notice. Ear tags have been put in as well and I'm going to switch to brass bands starting at the #1 and retag all.
James is finishing up the "ram pen", they'll have their own covered building as well as a pasture dedicated to them. I plan to keep the black sheep herd running intact but will be sending the others to the Locker. Some have to keep Ulyses company.
Will post pictures soon.
